is for the Beach.

We love the Beach.

We grew up in the Indiana Dunes on Lake Michigan. We went swimming everyday and sometimes twice a day in the summer. Sometimes we would go down to the beach in the evening and cool off in the water one more time at sunset. Picnics at the beach and bonfires in the evenings are the best! I love the water, I love the sand, and I love the way the beach transforms thru all of the seasons. In the winter the waves freeze in place. Now I live in Evanston, IL and walk my dog Scout along the beach everyday on the other side of Lake Michigan. There is something so relaxing about the lake. It reminds me of my childhood and all of the possibilities in life. Today the weather was super hot and then suddenly everything cooled off and the wind on the lake was so refreshing. As summer begins, the beach is opening up it's arms. Here are some pictures I took on today's walk.

  1. These pictures are great....my sister loves, loves, loves the beach but unfortunatley we don't live close by. I will have to show her these pictures and then she can imagine she is there! It sounds like you had a wonderful childhood, I would love to learn more.

  2. The pics are astonisghing...I really love the beach , the sand, the summer parfums, you know, the after sun body lotions. I like beach when is empty, in silence, reading a book, listen mi ipod with all my fav music... I do not like crowded places.
I like the sunset, drinking a coctail talking with best friends! I'm planning to spend a weekend with my best friend at her boyfriend's home in Riccione. I love summer ...Unfortunately, It seems to be always so short...Thank you for your comment!
