Over the holidays I made these zipper pouches for my sister's stockings and painted their monogram on the top.  They turned out so cute that I've been making more as presents for friends.

Great Color Combinations.

 

I love these gorgeous rugs featured in the March House Beautiful from JcPenney of all places!  The colors are great all mixed together.

 

 

Unfortunately they only come in small sizes - I'd love a big 8x10 rug of the two rugs combined!

 

 

I'm also loving this bed I saw over on Scandinavian Chic.  I love a bed full of mixed patterns - no all white linens for me.  Although I do have a few vintage white linen sheets with embroidered monograms that look great mixed in with everything - my mom has a real knack for finding great vintage treasures and sharing them with us!  This yellow and white striped bedskirt looks amazing with the black and white duvet and the pink and orange headboard.

 

 

I've been planning to make a black and white striped bedskirt like this for ages - now I think I've got to just do it!  I think it would look great with any color or pattern you put with it.

Happy (Belated) New Year!

 

I can't believe it's already the end of January!  It's been a busy year so far and I've been wrapped up in lot's of projects.  Christmas was great and almost everyone in our family has birthdays in the first 3 months of the year - making it very festive and probably has a lot to do with the reason we love winter and snow!  But where is the snow??  Luckily we went cross-country skiing the day after Christmas because we haven't seen any real snow since!

Even though we haven't seen much snow it is still super cold and a fireplace is still my dream luxury item!  I grew up with a fireplace and it was always the best place in the house to be in the winter!
