Gingersnaps.

Gingersnaps are definently one of our favorites this time of year and they smell incredible while baking in the oven!

These gingersnaps always come out chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside - YUM!
Here is our favorite recipe from our mom:

GINGERSNAPS

1 STICK OF BUTTER
1 CUP BROWN SUGAR
1 CUP SUGAR
1/3 CUP MOLASSES
2 EGGS
2 3/4 CUPS OF FLOUR
1 1/2 TSP OF BAKING SODA
1 TSP CINNAMON
1 TSP GROUND GINGER
1/4 TSP GROUND RED PEPPER
1/4 TSP CLOVES
1/4 TSP SALT

Heat oven to 300 degrees.  Cream the butter, brown sugar, 1/2 cup of sugar and molasses in a mixer.  Beat in eggs and set aside.  Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, red pepper, cloves and salt in a bowl - then beat into the butter mixture until smooth.  Chill dough.  Roll into small balls and dip into remaining 1/2 cup of granulated sugar.  Place on parchment - lined baking sheets and bake 10-12 minutes.

ENJOY!
