is
for
Lost at Sea.

Well - not exactly.  I lost my favorite necklace (of late) the other day and I can't get it out of my mind.  Of course it fell off of me on a day when I ran a million errands!  I tried retracing my steps - work, picking up my nephew from school, my sister's house, the grocery store, the library, walking Scout around the neighborhood - it could be anywhere!

Why do the things we lose become so important to us?  I've got to just let go - another great necklace will soon take it's place I'm sure.  Do you guys get hung up on the things you lose too?

  1. I do...I know exactly what you mean...I let my daughter wear a pair of my favorite helen ficolora hoop earrings and I noticed there was only one of them on her ledge above her desk...I looked for the other one everywhere...I was obsessed! And then a few months later I noticed it in the bottom of her pencil cup...I could have sworn I looked in there, twice! So my point is Jen, it just may turn up when you are least expecting it!

  3. I retraced my steps in a methodical way and did not find my very favorite multi stranded russet colored carnelian bead necklace. It made me short of breath. My favorite. I know I already said that, but it stung hard.
I called hotels where we had stayed, turned over my closets, challenged daughters... only to discover it stored in a clutch that went on vacation with me. I had stuffed it in there while packing to come home....

Even the losses that happen during a busy day often yield positive results, under the car seat, and in a nephew's backpack. Be forever hopeful. Life is like that.
