La Marzocco Home Espresso Machine

I would love to upgrade our espresso machine to this beauty!

Wood-Fired Hot Tub

We are bathers. Period. Someday we will have a wood-fired hot tub at home.  Until then I'll wax nostalgic about our trip to Vermont while looking at these cool tubs.  Check out this article about them in the New York Times.

Vintage Poster of Vail

One more week with the family in Vail would be dreamy.

Could we get another foot of snow like we experienced while we were there the first week of December - please?

Belgium in a Box

I would love to have a constant rotation of Belgian beers to try!  Next to a fireplace a glass of a good Belgian is the coziest way to enjoy winter!

If Scout had a wish list - what would be on it?

Clearly this sweater was not one of her favorite gifts!  She really dislikes any sort of sweater or coat in the winter - but in Chicago they can be a necessity.

Would love to get her one of these gorgeous dog beds made of vintage wool blankets!

This pug tent is too cute!

There will be four dogs at my parent's house this Christmas - so we could probably use a few of these - but none of them are the kind of dogs that just want to chill in the corner when there are humans around to give them attention!

Super cute dog charm needlepoint kits - a good project to do with my nieces and nephews!

If I just filled this tote bag with Greenies Scout would be a very happy dog - they are her favorite treat.  Easy to please!

The packaging of this tea is brilliant!  I pretty much just want the box!

For the coffee lover!

I love a good cup and saucer!

Super cute plaid napkins!
Rach had these at dinner the other night - so cute.

Good looking juice jars.

The perfect stocking stuffer - love the striped straw!

Love the anchors on these chocolate bars!

Sterling silver cocktail anchors would be perfect with a slice of orange and a glass of Lillet - my favorite!

Gingersnaps.

Gingersnaps are definently one of our favorites this time of year and they smell incredible while baking in the oven!

These gingersnaps always come out chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside - YUM!
Here is our favorite recipe from our mom:

GINGERSNAPS

1 STICK OF BUTTER
1 CUP BROWN SUGAR
1 CUP SUGAR
1/3 CUP MOLASSES
2 EGGS
2 3/4 CUPS OF FLOUR
1 1/2 TSP OF BAKING SODA
1 TSP CINNAMON
1 TSP GROUND GINGER
1/4 TSP GROUND RED PEPPER
1/4 TSP CLOVES
1/4 TSP SALT

Heat oven to 300 degrees.  Cream the butter, brown sugar, 1/2 cup of sugar and molasses in a mixer.  Beat in eggs and set aside.  Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, red pepper, cloves and salt in a bowl - then beat into the butter mixture until smooth.  Chill dough.  Roll into small balls and dip into remaining 1/2 cup of granulated sugar.  Place on parchment - lined baking sheets and bake 10-12 minutes.

ENJOY!
