Flea Market Finds.

Last week we took a mini holiday up to my parents house in Wisconsin.

While we were there we hit up the local flea market and everyone came home happy with their own special find - and, in my case, an unfortunate sunburn!  When will I ever learn?

The best find of the day was this gorgeous table and chairs for $85.  Looks great in my parent's backyard - but ultimately ended up on Rach's back deck.

We couldn't believe our luck - as it was our last find of the day.  Now we just have to find some gorgeous fabric to make cushions for the chairs - otherwise it is in perfect condition!

Found this super cute polka dot pouf for $6!

Loved this bamboo bar cart.

I never get tired of these plaid Scotch Koolers.

There's one vendor who always has some kind of treasure we love - this time it was this adorable stack of books made of carved wood.

I couldn't pass up this necklace - I have a soft spot for seed bead jewelry.  Can't wait to hit up the next flea market - they are always so much fun!

Stacks of Firewood.

It's no secret how much we love winter and snow!  We love it even more when there is a warm fire to come home to.  It's cold outside and I am wishing I had my very own fireplace!  I love the smell of a fire, the warm glow, and the stacks of firewood are a telltale sign that there is a warm and cozy fireplace nearby.

Found Furniture.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately - computer woes!  While I was without my computer for a while I found these fabulous swivel chairs at the end of someone's driveway!  My mom and I pulled over and loaded up the wagon with these two dirt covered beauties while driving home from the pumpkin patch.  After hosing them down we discovered a pair of super cute swivel chairs!

I think they will be as good as new with a paint job and a new cushion!

I love a project!

Last but not least, our original mission - pumpkins for one dollar - my mom knows where to find the deals!

I thought I would post some pictures of some cute things I've seen at flea markets this summer.

Finding Free Sofas.

That's right!  On Friday evening I was on a walk with my sister, Al, admiring all of the lilacs in bloom when I saw what looked like a pink chair in the alley.  As we got closer we realized it was a super cute settee that had just been brought out by it's previous owner!

One person's trash is another person's treasure!

After confirming with the owner's that the sofa was in fact available for anyone to take, we went back home to get our car and loud it up.  At first we thought we were too late because we couldn't find the alley we were in, but eventually we saw the flash of pink.  Hooray!

I took it up to my parent's house on Saturday and my mom helped me tear off the old cording and fabric.

We were happy to find that it was in pretty good shape and the insides weren't disgusting!  Just needs a paint job and some super cute fabric!

I love the rounded back!

I can't wait to choose the fabric!  We were able to pull the previous fabric off in one piece so we have a perfect pattern.
