Nautical Treasures at Target.

What a week it has been - my internet went down with the storm on Tuesday and I just got it back today.  Then as soon as the internet came back the power went out - good times.  I'm also watching Rach's pug Olive this week while she is in Italy with her husband.  Lucky girl!  Having a 1 yr old puppy and my 11 year old pug Scout together is constantly enertaining/maddening.  All Olive wants to do is play with Scout and Scout is just not interested.  So Olive just follows Scout around  barking and biting her in the butt to get her attention until she wears herself out.  Scout was the same way when she was a puppy and really didn't lose her puppy-like energy until she was about 10 years old.  They are so sweet together when they are sleeping!  In an attempt to escape the dog drama I went over to Target to pick up a few things and found these super cute tumblers.

I couldn't resist the anchors and crab on these cups - they had my name all over them.

Love these water bottles - could be the perfect thing to send to my nieces at camp - got to get some care packages together.  Cheap thrills!

A peaceful moment for Olive and Scout lounging with my nephew Max.  Here's hoping the weekend is more like this!

The Perfect Library.

This little library featured in Matchbook Magazine is so perfectly cozy!   I love all of the built-ins and the warm embrace of the books, sofa, and lighting - organized and disheveled at the same time.

I'd like to wake up and have my first cup of coffee in this room - a charming little workspace to inspire.  I'll take the outfit too!

A few new striped lovelies that have caught my eye!

A great summer dining room.
This duvet would be great mixed with some color!

I would like a few of these colorful bracelets paired with your favorite vintage watch!
Another cute striped duvet!
Love this striped entry!
I picked up one of these for me and one for Rach - can't beat the $9.95 price tag and I love the pink and red stripes!

My Monogram Bag.

A while back I decided to make my own monogram bag so I went to the local Vogue Fabrics and bought some black canvas for $1.99/yd and got started.  After deciding on a horseshoe shape and sewing the bag together I broke out the freezer paper and some paint.

The hardest part of this project was waiting for the paint to dry in between steps!  I like to use Jacquard's Textile paint.

Two green stripes!

With a white stripe down the middle.

After doing this on both sides I added the monogram.  Then I put a clear coat of varnish over all of the paint.

The finished product!  The perfect tote for the summer!

Clamshell Locket.

I love jewelry with a secret hiding place and this clamshell looks like the perfect place to hide a love letter, a favorite fortune, or sand from your favorite beach!
