is for IKAT.

We love Ikat.

No matter how much I see it around I still love it.

It appeals to my preppy roots.

It fits in so great with colors and old homes, which is where we feel at home.

I would love to have my table set with these beautiful bowls.
Filled with tom yum soup or homeade gazpacho for the summer.

And put my feet up on this gorgeous ottoman!
While sitting on a black and white awning striped sofa!
I have been obsessed with this John Robshaw red poppy print forever and it is no longer available. It would also be gorgeous on a sofa.

is for Horses

I love the ethereal quality of this image.

Horses are so stunning and graceful. How great would it be to have a horse to take out and escape the stress of the day?

In the English countryside?

In a beautiful dress?

Even better.

We love a good book.

I have been knitting so much lately that I haven't

buried myself in a good book for a long time.

I love it when a book is so good you don't want it to end.

A perfect afternoon reading a good book with a loved one.

I love the Penguin Books covers.
What a great title!

via J.Crew

This was one of my favorite J.Crew covers. I love all of the books.

It reminds me of the beginning of the school year in the fall.

I love that anything could happen feeling.

How cute is this girl holding her flashcard?
I have always been drawn to text and numbers in images.
We are always excited when we find vintage flashcards at flea markets or antique stores.

We love to make things out of felt or turn things we knit into felt.
The texture is so great and
there are so many possibilities!

These Fric and Frac necklaces were made from raw wool using the wet felting process.

is for
We love flowers.
Spring is here and it makes me want to have flowers everywhere.
Rach's husband is allergic to flowers so she is always trying to sneak them into the house under the radar. Often they end up on the back porch. Small or big, a bouquet of flowers cheers up every room.

I adore peonies.

And poppies.

And anemones.

And zinnias in old silver containers!

A bunch of blue hydrangeas!

Ranunculous are so delicate and wonderful!
The colors look so great mixed together.

Sunflowers by the dozens!
This is my favorite from the farmer's market. You can buy a few bunches reasonably and make a huge statement.

is for Fireplaces.

via Domino

We love fireplaces.

When we were growing up there was always a fire in the fireplace . When I was a kid and couldn't sleep I would sometimes sit at the top of the staircase and watch my dad sit by the fireplace in the dark, listening to jazz. I loved the way he seemed so content to sit by the fire. I love my dad. I also love the sounds and smell of a real fireplace. The crackling and the familiar smell of burning wood. I think this is one of my favorite kitchens. The fireplace is huge and the ebony floors look great with the white cabinets and table.

A fireplace in the living room is great, but what a luxury to have a roaring fire while soaking in the bathtub.

Or in the kitchen.
I love the subway tiles on this fireplace.

There is so much you can do with a mantel.

How about a fireplace in the bathroom next to your closet.
